One of the biggest benefits to staying in Seminyak is the close proximity to a banquet of incredible food offerings. Flavours from across the globe artfully presented in restaurants and cafes decked out to perfection; it’s a recipe to leave your all-inclusive hotel at least once!

Here we round up the best of Seminyak’s breakfast haunts, all of which prove that having breakfast like a king is no difficult task on the island of Bali.

Café Organic

Matcha lattes, tropical fruit smoothie bowls displayed to Insta-perfection and quinoa sushi – we don’t even need to visit Canggu anymore! Vegan, gluten free and raw options are all available at Cafe Organic, as are meals served in half cut pineapples and still hairy-coconuts. You can also pick up a set of wooden fins for your surfboard and some take away kombucha on your way out the door. Charge your phone folks, they just don’t serve breakfast like this at home.

If you’re of the firm belief that it’s never too early in the day to ogle over homewares, globally inspired clothing and a treasure chest of jewels, then be waiting on the doorstep of SOUQ at 7:30 for a breakfast and shopping extravaganza. Though the word ‘shopping’ kind of downplays the experience, this is more like investing in collectables and preserving traditions. Pour over their cabinet of quiches, pies, cakes and other heavenly home baked goods, or head to the menu where you’ll find the likes of poached tamarillos with thick creamy yoghurt and many versions of organic eggs.

It’s certainly not the cheapest breakfast in Bali, but for French toast with maple-baked banana and candied hazelnut, most of us are willing to splash the extra dollar or two. Conveniently located across from the new Seminyak Village shopping mall, Sisterfields is notoriously busy but always worth the wait. Their breakfast, lunch and dinner goodness is served all day, which means ordering polenta fries with truffle aioli and parmesan to go with your jalapeño breakfast burrito is 100{a6f918a28d0c453b79f16bf9c353d89c8f4246dd535f28283d5e631e0d8f251e} possible. Hallelujah!

Corner huse

Corner House

With dark timber floors, high cement walls, brown leather chesterfields and a little outdoor jungle, Corner House doubles as a place to both devour good breakfast and see all of your long imagined home goals in the flesh. Perched on the corner (as you’d expect) of Seminyak’s Jalan Kayu Aya, it makes a perfect place to commence a day of “shop ‘til the heat makes you drop”. And what does any solid day of shopping require? The sort of stamina provided by good coffee and spiked blood sugar levels. We suggest you order the cinnamon porridge with brown sugar crumble or the berry and pistachio pancakes.

Sea Circus

Bali frequenters are likely to hail the Sea Circus performers as the pioneers of a good breakfast in Bali (they first set up shop six years ago, which by Bali’s culinary scene standards, is a pretty long time ago). Despite hoards of other cafes opening in Seminyak since they first pitched their tent, Sea Circus has had to do very little to keep enticing the crowds. Great coffee and great food served in a setting with plenty of personality will always win hearts, and they have all of those traits in abundance. Their Hangover Happy Meals, one of which comes complete with a Berocca shot, Panadol and happy game, are not to be missed.

Revolver Espresso

Most Bali cafes give a nod to their tropical island location with light and airy vibes, coconuts casually arranged in a corner, and some sort of palm tree inspired décor. But not Revolver. This is more your guns on the walls, shut out the sun kind of café, to the point where you may even forget you’re in Bali at all. Hidden down an unassuming alley way off Seminyak’s main eat street, you’ll find their Melbourne-esque digs dishing up ricotta hotcakes, ‘God Father’ breakfast burgers, and some of the most famous coffee on the island. Beanies and skinny jeans very much permitted – pride has no regard for core body temperature at Revolver.

If you’re the indecisive type, Watercress is not the place for you. They do every style of breakfast, and they do them all delightfully well. You’re likely to stroll through their doors and find a full house glamorously tucking into acai bowls, porridge, quinoa granola, corn fritters, smoked salmon omelets, chia seed puddings, bagels, croissants … it’s almost criminal. Although it’s Batu Belig location may be a little out of the way for some, this is one you will want to return to time and time again.

The Spicy Coconut

It’s not always ideal to strut out for breakfast at a fancifully decorated restaurant that’s spilling at the sides with customers. Sometimes you just want something low key and lovely that still serves up an incredible meal. Enter The Spicy Coconut, one of the best kept secrets in Seminyak. Inside the walls of this humble little set up you will find some of the best vegan food…known to mankind. Sweetly drizzled pancakes presented with mini umbrellas, flamboyant fruit bowls, chickpea burgers; you’ll be considering converting from your very first bite.
